Facultés universitaires Notre-Dame de la Paix (Namur - Belgium)

FUNDPThe University of Namur ("Facultés Universitaires N.-D. de la Paix" FUNDP) has 4000 students, six faculties, about 200 full professors and 800 researchers. The Informatics Institute, founded in 1970, is the oldest faculty of Informatics in Belgium with a clear orientation in Information Systems. More than 1000 students have been already graduated from Informatics Institute with MSc degree in 35 years.

The center PRECISE (PRECISE is a Research Center in Information Systems Engineering) is the most important research center in Informatics in Namur. It is specialized in Information Systems and covers the different phases and the different aspects related to this field. In fact, PRECISE federates five research groups with complementary areas of expertise:

  • The group "Requirement Engineering",
  • The group "Method, Model & Tools",
  • The "Data Base" group,
  • The group "Interoperability" and
  • The "Software Quality" group.

The different groups of PRECISE participate and participated to a several dozens of international projects for a complete list. A majority of the projects are supported by regional and European funding. For example, let us cite the project "Fireworks" in requirement engineering, the project agent link in agent paradigm development, the project "Bigre" and "Interop" in cooperative systems engineering, the project Ueml in entreprise modeling, the projects request and RIStart in data base reverse engineering and the project Craq in software quality for process and product.
