Scientific and technological objectives

Scientific and technological objectives are clearly defined

The scientific objectives of the project are the following:

  • Gain a better understanding of the relationships between measures of software source code and the actual robustness and evolvability quality characteristics of open source components, in particular, quality indicators found in source code.
  • Create a method for applying quality models to gauge the evolvability and robustness of FLOSS components.

The scientific objectives are achieved when working on the following workpackages :

  • WP1: Requirements, Measurement Methodology and Functional Prototyping
  • WP3: Implementation of Measurement Procedures
  • WP4: Data Analysis and Models Construction
  • WP5: Cases studies

The technological objectives are the following:

  • Construct the QUALOSS platform that integrates tools to automate applying quality models.
  • Verify that evolvability and robustness of F/OSS components impact the productivity of organizations that integrate these F/OSS components.

The technological objectives are achieved when working on the following workpackages:

  • WP1: Requirements, Measurement Methodology and Functional Prototyping
  • WP2: Tools Development
  • WP5: Cases studies
